Reading comprehension worksheets with a passage
Give a topic and a grade. You get an original passage, questions that depend on it, and a key with the answers.
How to use it
Pick a topic that fits your unit: a fable, a science fact, a short biography, an everyday story. The passage is written new each time, so students are not reading something they can look up.
The questions are meant to need the text. Expect a mix of finding a detail, working out what a word means from context, and saying why something happened. Raise the difficulty and the questions lean toward inference.
The passage prints at the top of the sheet, followed by numbered questions with writing lines. The answer key lists a model answer for each one on its own page.
Read the passage before you copy it. Pro lets you edit any question or answer in the preview, and saves your worksheet history in your browser. The free plan gives you 3 sheets a day with a small footer.
Questions
